Membership

The primary purpose of the Agricultural Water Management Council is to advance and promote effective agricultural water management practices in California through the implementation of water management plans and the AB 3616 Memorandum of Understanding (MOU).

The Council works in a voluntary and cooperative manner in order to establish a consistent, uniform, and credible process to advance agricultural water management in California while assisting agricultural water suppliers to demonstrate how they use water efficiently.

The Council presents its members with the opportunity to:

  • Collaborate and review water management strategies.
  • Meet, communicate, and coordinate with other stakeholders in agricultural water management.
  • Review and comment on submitted water management plans.

Who can join?
The Council is a voluntary program. There are no membership fees or dues. The Council is currently funded through a Cooperative Agreement between DWR, U.S. Bureau of Reclamation and the Agricultural Water Management Council. All agencies and organizations, committed to the voluntary and cooperative water management efforts of the MOU are encouraged to become signatories.
